Another one of my all time favourite Composers, Niccolò Paganini an Italian violinist, violist, guitarist, and composer (1782–1840). He was the most celebrated violin virtuoso of his time. A truly transformative composer when it comes to violin compositions – what one would call in the world of technology nowadays “Disruptive” – and did he throw all the rules of violin playing out the window? He essentially dragged the sound of the violin/techniques of playing it to new levels. One could possibly hear conversations during his time, something along the lines of; Oh, I didn’t know you could do that….now that’s a new one…..hey, that’s crazy!…..is this even legal?…….OK, let’s give it up and just listen.
