What a timing for all this! An uncomfortable coalition seems to not only define current state of German governance that’s supposed to project stability as an influential anchor for the EU, but it also seems to reflect the state of on an increasingly uncomfortable EU alliance where values and priorities seem to be repelling forces that are quite likely to get worse with the new U.S. Trump presidency. As I mentioned in the short blog in the link below written just before U.S. election day, maybe the existing situation can be used as an opportunity for reassessment/recalibration of priorities and and developing new compatible alliances that reflect new pragmatic world order rather than the current one that’s no longer fit for purpose and a big part of it would be UN reform.
Have a Great Evening!
