No technical expertise necessary in politics, economics or trade; its really just a matter of common sense. If nations by choice, corruption or coercion choose to pass control of key national assets to foreign entities; whether land, businesses or natural resources or create rigid dependencies on foreign resources and/or supply chains in the name of development and/or investment – the writing is pretty much on the wall when it comes to national sovereignty. Worse yet is not developing clear strategic long term/binding blueprint/vision that combines economic, political, social, educational objectives that are both firm/achievable yet adaptable in design. In other words for any form of development there needs to be unshakable foundations that cannot be allowed to be hijacked in the name of democracy. Similar to constitutions this blueprint serves as guide/vision for the nation and can be adapted in the strictest of situations based on a clear set of rules. In layman terms Democracy 1.0 needs an urgent major upgrade (2.0 or above) to make it more resilient and less prone to abuse by a leader or political party during the post election dash. In other words no more political hijack, right Jack?
