Well done Sir, Well done France! I can only hope this is a genuine effort and that it proves to be the ultimate beginning of the end to the suffering on both sides. The region deserves better but due to the painful history it does require external partners to make this happen. But again this requires a just solution and as I mentioned many times a clear set of incentives and disincentives to ensure the track is followed and that’s the only way this can work. It must also involve other powers in the region like Iran so that peace is achieved on a wider interrelated context and in my opinion it is very achievable if intentions for peace are genuine. But lets not get ahead of the events and take time digesting this and the developments that follow because I’m certain there will be many issues to resolve even before negotiations can begin it ain’t just Israel its the U.S. on its side (wrong side) so if it actually happens it will be very tricky indeed and will require “seasoned diplomats” to carve their way intelligently through it while preventing neither to hijack it. Starting with these initial meetings between civil society is a great/clever starting point and I truly hope this breaks the deadlock and builds a global momentum for real peace talks to begin (again using the carrot and stick approach). It also demonstrates that Europe can/will take charge in this conflict rather than taking the role of a spectator and no more appropriate nation to lead here than France.

Too good to be true? Yes, I know, but its just the first step!
