“‘Appropriate efforts’ considered by clever politicians to protect the right ‘under international law’ of the flow of energy supplies to their respective regions. As for what ‘Appropriate efforts’ really mean, well that’s a minor detail for another day perhaps as a “surprise”. In other words rather than pressuring the aggressor’s to end the unlawful attack they may be pondering getting into the conflict by the back door; and that would be ‘brave’ if true considering their stance in resisting getting directly involved in the Ukraine conflict in Europes backyard. Europe – in my opinion – should use any leftover diplomatic leverage to end this war peacefully but they should not be pondering on what basis because that should be clear if they have any sense of integrity (whether in Iran or Venezuela). In fact I would go as far as suggesting that is could prove to be an excellent opportunity for Europe & the EU to prove in no uncertain terms that it has an alternative/consistent vision in contributing to the shaping of a new world order that is much inline with international law and universal values “CONSISTENTLY” (what the US aspired to achieve but failed miserably). This could be a big win for Europe at every level only if they were clever enough to make it happen and resist the old ‘luggage’ mentality that leads pretty much nowhere.
