[German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul called the proposal “inappropriate”.
“We have to talk with Israel about the critical issues,” he said at the start of the meeting.]

Now how in the world did we all miss that one? And while we’re at it why not apply this exact/same posture in the case of Russia; just spread the “mental/clever” juice?

Here is the bottom line; cowardly acts in applying double standards/supporting a genocidal regime are not far from cowardly acts committed by that regime itself – in layman terms complicity in genocide – and to me these are much too obvious to waste time even discussing here.

Yet in a way submitting this proposal for an EU vote was also dumb considering that there was never unanimity and always double standards on this issue from the get go. The only approach would sadly have to be what has now become the EU model of operation; the coalition of the willing.

But let me expand a bit; it seems to me that the EU as an institution is becoming largely irrelevant where foreign policy and matters of national security/geopolitics are concerned but here’s the kicker; this is not just irrelevance in terms of projected power/influence in a complicated global disorder, but more importantly irrelevant in the context of protecting their own national interests because as I mentioned before in a previous post relying purely on regional/nation resilience in facing up to geopolitical shocks due to on going foreign conflicts is totally unachievable (short, medium or long term). So being shackled from even affecting these conflicts – without direct intervention – via a tried and tested (carrot and stick) approach is an own goal because it will produce no results in foreign conflicts (particularly this one as I repeated before) but plenty of blowback internally not as a projection/theory but as the reality we see as of today/yesterday. So ignore international law and matters of human rights for a minute and consider what’s actually happening; economies impacted by conflicts getting out of control, immigration pressure cooker from conflict zones and due to the support of brutal regimes, direct impact on national policies due to suspect allegiances within the political establishment and the undermining of core values like freedoms of speech and expression; so make no mistake Europe is indeed being affected and will continue to be even more affected while their focus is distracted counting the numbers of migrant boats (a fraction of what this will be in the not so distant future).

The Old Guard driving Old Narratives/Approach in Europe need changing fast before detrimental changes destroy it for good.

Am I exaggerating/fear mongering again; well, just take it as an opinion from a political layman and you’ll be just fine.
