Thats’s an easy one; the wests true strength in terms of defensive power is defending against states that cannot match their power in which case they revert to more convenient tactics like the sanctions, blockades and helping “partners” do the dirty work whether or not its is legitimate/guided by international law. In other words thats the flexible/adaptable power the west now believes in. A power that for the most part becomes an own goal in terms of deterring adversaries – and in many other cases close allies – who willing chose to become pariah states in regions of influence and gradually develop even longer arms. Unfortunately now we watch in horror as a pariah state develops in the west itself, picks up the baton from the ally (thanks to a rigged political system) with already long arms and now heading north, south, east and west. Thats what I call “Back to the Future”) and here’s Alan Silvestri’s music to back it as the only one thing I like about this concept;

Democracy’s Major Upgrade (a proposition)
