When “Secular” states suddenly become “Secular’ish’” states; where racism, supremacist ideology & bigotry have been repackaged into a new theme called “Culture” and where people of immigrant backgrounds – some of them – rather than championing an alternate vision to colonial/racist tendencies are actually promoting/defending the same old/same old narratives whether about the question of immigration or in conflicts specifically empowering racist ideologies. They are the clowns – in my opinion – that are in effect used as merely markers to project that a political party (or even a country for that matter) is multicultural (this almost happened to me with a British party but I chose not to bite because its a demeaning attitude). Now I don’t know their real motivations are behind this urge to be clowns – perhaps they’re trying to prove their “white or off-white” credentials or just to achieve/maintain high positions though they will always play 2nd fiddle – but I don’t really know or care for that matter. What I do believe wholeheartedly is that migration – property reformed – is an opportunity not just as a labour force to fill in the gaps (‘fillers’ and/or ‘markers’ if you like) but one that can be a political force to help propose a new vision for their country away from extremist ideologies promoted by parties/groups that are well funded/organised-because pac-man is already out of the bag. Adapting to their country/culture should be a given, but not to the extent of allowing others to attempt deleting their culture, their  belief system or what they stand for so that they can positively contribute to their country/communities. An honest public debate needs to be had so that these matters are discussed properly and closed permanently especially considering the many geopolitical challenges/threats we face today.

Does that make any sense??
