They actually managed to achieve it in quite a short time; a true/solid effective change in “faces”. However things pan out what we’re all effectively encouraging is a change in faces/styles rather than focusing on a change in politics and what our role becomes once we’re post election time. Remember also that behind the scenes at moments like this more powerful lobbyists (particularly ones driven by foreign players) are also hedging their bets on options favourable to their cause to help “nudge” the political chairs at election time as I mention in the post I will link to. Can’t we just be a bit more clever and force political reform as the first/only item on the agenda irrespective of party affiliations/ideologies? One of the key reforms is eliminating of political hijacking during election cycles and ensuring the electorate is still able to intervene directly rather than allowing the parliamentary political musical chairs to constantly lead us to a brick wall time and again. We need to move the conversation/debate to something more substantial, consequential and meaningful as I mention in the post below.
