UK Elections: Practicing vs. Preaching Democracy

Practicing Democracy vs. Preaching Democracy: Here we go gain; after the flawed BREXIT referendum of 2016 we seem to be at another political crossroads where politics seems to be at odds with realities. This is the situation where issues/policies are not discussed/debated seriously from the foundation/raw level but rather from a distorted/political filter that totally ignores the genuine context of the challenges the country faces. I totally agree with Lord Heseltine (link to article below) that part-and-parcel of this context is our future relationship with the EU which should become a corner stone in defining our own future in terms of strategic geopolitical interests, security as well as economic interests which all seem to intersect with those of the EU. So in a nutshell, it is true that elections are an important element in practicing Democracy but they become a whitewash/joke when they’re designed to conceal rather than reveal or what I call (the BREXIT model).

Just a thought!
