A couple of brief points; 1) Mark Carney is consistently proving a point I made recently about his premiership in that he is the sole leader that I see as having the right approach, temperament in tackling complex geopolitical issues of this age. Canada under his leadership seems capable in leading the western coalition at least at the present time and in model that does not create yet another single-point-of-failure vulnerability that we have now. 2) The new tactics of interference in Canadian affairs are not of trumps making (he’s not clever as mentioned in my previous post) he just gets the credit for it. As for Mark Carney’s response he is – as mentioned in the clip – striking the right balance; no rage, no frustration, no theatrics and no tit-for-tat punchlines; just a calm/focused approach in responding to the U.S. administration without addressing/validating trump himself. This guy is a work of art, a precious work of art and I can only hope he can keep it up!
