Europe Actively Giving Up on Sovereignty & Values

We found the Israeli soldiers SECRETLY being trained by Britain

Ignore the subject matter of the post below entirely for the moment as well the constant/fancy preaching that comes from European heads of state while focusing solely on actions being taken (mostly without any form of public or even parliamentary scrutiny whatsoever) and consider the following;

a) these are not merely matters pertaining to foreign affairs but core long term national & strategic interests as well as considering values that have been coined into the national psyche/identity which are now being systematically chipped away due to both corruption as well as suspect allegiances of lead politicians – but who’s vetting or counting for that matter. Remember these are not threats projected in far away regions by ones that have actually landed close to home.

b) at moments like what where we’re witnessing now in terms of once in a lifetime geopolitical transformations unique leverage is key to steady the ship and have the influence to define the new order currently in the works. The only unique card for Europe are the values we talked about and it seems many European leaders are happy to sell them to highest bidder for either a quick “buck” or just to follow narratives imposed on the national scene through powerful lobbying efforts without any form of proper scrutiny or debate – acts that some could consider corruption at one extreme to treasonous at another.

It is my opinion that what Europe needs at this moment/time is a public/honest debate about the process of policy formulation not just in terms of parliamentary scrutiny but also developing political guardrails that also allows the public more direct powers to intervene, scrutinize and reject policies; link below provides an option for public oversight but there may well be better ones so lets find some…

Finally I believe that Europe (or many lead countries in Europe) need the changing of the guard because I’m beginning to feel they’re guarding the wrong party and for the wrong reasons. But my feeling is not important and may be subjective, what is not – again in my opinion – is the need of root-branch reform of the European political establishment to prevent the political hijacking that I mention in the post linked above and with short-medium and long term actions to minimize the possibility of long term/irreversible self harm.

Just another simplistic opinion.

Take care.

Vetting Problem, Corruption Problem, Lobbying Problem…go ahead throw in another coin
