The EU – State of the Union: Priorities Outlined (or perhaps “outdated”….)

FULL REMARKS: Danish PM Frederiksen Warns Russia Is Testing Europe, Calls for Urgent Rearmament|AC1B

Security/Defence, Migration Control, Ukraine/Russia Conundrum; These are the focus points for Europe. Not foreign policy, resolving foreign conflicts, protecting international law or attempting to help shape a new world order. To the contrary, the strategy is quite simple; build a huge wall, reinforce your security and all will be well. Oh well, that’s certainly a strategy alright if the effects of the mideast conflict and the Iran war – just so far – are anything to go by. China on the other hand seems to be deliberately picking up the pieces and making a big statement from it in relation to conflict zones and also thrugh its dominance on pretty most areas that are a direct threat to the European economy (and security if push comes to shove) and yet not a word in these statements and that in itself speaks volumes. It is truly unfortunate that far-right ideologies have succeeded in turning the tables on national/regional priorities for Europe – not just on immigration, though no one in his right mind can argue the need for reform – but in the importance of reinforcing the value system that needs to be engraved in the new world order being written because without it combined with the need to develop and rebuild soft power, the reliance on hard power alone is not sustainable, long, medium or short term nor is being overly distracted by internal European affairs. Europeans are in effect now putting the baton that represents western leadership on the world stage that essentially led them to the place they’re in today for auction in the false expectation that this will keep them be safe and comfy and maybe help cover an expense or 2; unfortunately the world does NOT work that way, or so I say.

Enjoy…
