Music Break: The Mission (Gabriel’s Oboe) – Ennio Morricone

Morricone conducts Morricone: The Mission (Gabriel's Oboe)

A whisper, then a conversation then a determined call. For me it’s kind of a human story that effortlessly touches the soul but to really get it you have to close your eyes and really listen. This particular composition in my opinion requires an arrangement that emphasis this evolving communication pattern; this through loudness of lead instrument vis-a-vis the rest of the orchestra and other transitional variations. It is after all right/proper to have 2 distinct/important musical arts; composition and arrangement. Just an opinion.

But ignore all that and just enjoy the music.
