A brilliant composition by a Mexican composer, conductor, pianist, percussionist and teacher José Pablo Moncayo (June 29, 1912 – June 16, 1958). Conducting the Orchestre de Paris is Mexican American conductor is Alondra de la Parra. The piece is an orchestral arrangement of several popular dances from the eastern state of Veracruz; plenty in the way of colour & rhythm – I just the love the piece and for me could be an interesting project to untangle and develop a version for the trumpet….a lengthy project but I might just do that.
