The Brett Kavanaugh Hearing: Senator Lindsey Graham Speaks the Truth but it ain’t Pretty

On Fox news the U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina shared his thoughts on the sexual misconduct allegations against Brett Kavanaugh saying; “What am I supposed to do, go ahead and ruin this guy’s life based on an accusation?” “I’m just being honest. Unless there’s something more, no, I’m not going to ruin Judge Kavanaugh’s life over this. But she should come forward. She should have her say. She will be respectfully treated.”

What I really find astonishing is this statement is the last highlighted part which in layman terms translates to something along the lines of; “Yes, full respect to the accuser, but we’ll just not take any notice of her.” and that’s even before she utters a word; well done Senator and I am just NOT being honest.

Now here’s a brief thought though I “thought” in this day-and-age it wouldn’t be necessary to highlight such a common sense concept particularly to “intelligent” people involved in shaping the future of a nation;

Being selected for public office means that people must have an impeccable reputation not just in their professional career but on also in personal life which is precisely why there are such hearings in Congress – though most Republicans used it for praising the candidate rather than challenging him. I would suggest no one on either side of aisle wants the man destroyed, but life is full of other opportunities he can pick up. More importantly for people to voluntarily accept nominations despite “lapses” – if true – in their personal and/or professional life is a judgement they need to accept responsibility for particularly considering the importance of the position as well as the broken political environment we live in.

But beyond all these discussions/analysis – some would say analysis/paralysis syndrome – the fundamental issue the statement of Senator Graham highlights is the dire situation we all face in the West nowadays where Moral Bearings no longer have any Bearing at the highest level of government – and that’s a problem Worth fixing otherwise we may end up with a Worthless future. So for the new generation out there count this as a failure you will inherit from our & other previous generations but should not follow – a list of failures growing by the minute; but we love you so much and that’s why we’re giving you great challenges to chew on 🙂

Finally here’s a relevant clip that you may find interesting with Jon Stewart being lectured by Bill O’Reilly on FOX News a few years ago about how former President Obama allowed someone with questionable history into the White House – just for crossing the door – and you make a judgment.

Hope this helps!
