This is in every sense of the word my all time favourite movie ever. The film was released in 1984 and directed by Miloš Forman, adapted by Peter Shaffer from his stage play Amadeus. The story, set in Vienna, Austria, during the latter half of the 18th century, is a fictionalised biography of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and was filmed in Czechoslovakia – mostly in Prague. The film is not only full of great music by a great composer, but every element of the filmmaking has been perfected to a degree difficult to articulate in words. So if you’re into classical music and have yet to see this movie I cannot recommend it highly enough. I personally have the movie on DVD and have the CD soundtrack, so I continue to watch the film and of course listen to the great music. The great thing here is going behind the scenes and listening to the off camera stories behind this masterpiece.

Hope you enjoy!
