We should STOP piecemealing solutions of symptoms and start curing the real issue of political overreach/corruption in all its forms whether it be in financing political parities or influence by lobbyist/special interest. These activities do nothing but chip away at our Democracy and liberal values; we should stop talking about regulating them and instead begin an honest discussion on how to eliminate them altogether. I recognise this is NOT a straight forward issue to resolve particularly that it has infested every part of our political eco system but we do need an independent team to help devise an incremental plan that helps root out all these forms of corruption at every level of government while ensuring continued monitoring/assessment of this effort when/if it starts.
